Agriculture dramatically changed human society around 10,000 BCE. With a
reliable food supply, population took off. In the past 100 years alone, the population
has almost quadrupled. As a result, the global demand for food is rising and the food
system is becoming more complex. Changing farming techniques to feed an
ever-increasing population is contributing to global warming.
